There
is nothing better than to receive a feature on Instagram, a
kind of warm fuzzy feeling grows inside and you have to tell all your
friends!! Well I was considering the idea of giving this feeling to
other people, when out of the blue I received a KIK message from the
founder of @insta_pick asking if I would like to join the team, I was to
start doing features with another new member @marziaver, a friendly
Italian Photographer.
Marzia and Myself hit it off fabulously we would chat in the evenings about photography and then we had the idea of starting a featuring account on our own and Voila!@Rainbow_Wall was Born!
It was my youngest son that came up with the name 'Rainbow_Wall' I said to him 'What would you call a place where you would find a lot of bright coloured pictures all together and Rainbow Wall was his answer!
At Rainbow_Wall we make two daily features, one 4-square collage we select imagesthat are under our tag #rainbow_wall that similar colour or composition and then we also highlight an image that has outstanding qualities for our Colour of the Day Feature. This is one of my morning rituals, I wake up, take the kids to school and then sit and eat my breakfast browsing through all the gorgeous coloured images that have been tagged #rainbow_wall. This is one of my joys of life!
Rainbow_Wall has gained great success in the last couple of months even though we don't use tags, we only found that tags were attracting the spam, which at times can be writhe on instagram. All of Rainbow Walls growth relies on word of mouth, featured artists reposting their highlights and challenges that we run on a weekly basis.
